A shared speedboat day to the Phi Phi islands from Krabi, with hotel pickup and lunch, is from US$47 a person (checked November 2026), and most such days add the national park fee on the day: 400 baht an adult and 200 baht a child, in cash. What changes the price
Where you start. The half-days from Phi Phi Don have no crossing and no hotel transfer, so they are the cheapest way to see Maya Bay and Pileh Lagoon, but you have to pay for a night on the island and the ferry to get there. From Krabi, Ao Nang, Phuket and Ko Lanta the shared speedboat days cost about the same as each other.
The time of day. The early-bird and sunset days cost more than the classic day: the early ones reach Maya Bay before most boats and add Krabi’s islands, the sunset ones add dinner and a night swim among the plankton.
The size of the group. Small-group days cost about twice the classic day or more, and a private boat is priced for the boat: Discover Thailand’s private longtail for up to two, Sea Eagle Tour’s private speedboat for up to twelve, which works out at less per person once the boat is full.
The extras to budget for
- The national park fee: 400 baht an adult and 200 baht a child, set by the Department of National Parks for Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Leh and Bamboo Island. On most days it is collected in cash at check-in; the rows marked “Included” have it in the price. Keep the ticket: officers check it.
- The Khai islands’ service charge: 20 baht a person, on Phuket days that stop there; the Khai islands are in Phang Nga province, outside the national park.
- A longtail ride inside Pileh Lagoon, offered on some days for an extra charge on the spot.
- Fins and a towel, which several days do not provide, and tips for the crew.
- Pickup outside the free zone. On Thalassa's small-group day, for example, a private pickup from Railay is 850 baht for up to three people, and from Krabi town or Klong Muang 1,100 baht; on Sea Eagle Tour's private speedboat a pickup before 7:00 costs 500 baht more.
