Who It Suits and What to Know

Sawasdee Phi Phi’s half-day longtail is the cheapest way to see Maya Bay if you are staying on Phi Phi Don: a traditional longtail from Ton Sai to Monkey Beach, Viking Cave, Pileh Lagoon for a swim and Maya Bay, back by 13:00. Rated 4.7 from 654 reviews. It takes about 4 hours.

Who it suits: travellers sleeping on Phi Phi who want the classic bays in a morning and the afternoon free. Who should look elsewhere: children under 4, pregnant travellers and people prone to seasickness (the trip is not suitable for them), and anyone not staying on the island, since there is no pickup.

What to know before you book:

  • Meeting point. The McDonald’s on Phi Phi Don at 08:30; the boats leave from Ton Sai pier. If your hotel is on another beach, arrange a longtail to Ton Sai early in the morning.
  • The stops. Monkey Beach, Viking Cave, Pileh Lagoon, Loh Samah Bay and Maya Bay by the floating pier, with snorkelling; back at Ton Sai by 13:00.
  • Included. The longtail, staff, a life jacket, snorkelling gear, water and fruit.
  • Extra. The national park fee, 400 baht an adult and 200 baht a child (checked November 2026), in cash; food and drinks. Reviews say the fee caught some people out, so bring the cash.
  • Maya Bay, with Loh Samah Bay and Ao Lo Ko, is closed every year from 1 August to 30 September.

The price is from US$18 a person in current promotion (usually US$22) (checked November 2026), with free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Maya Bay from Phi Phi compares it with the early and sunset trips.
