Who should look elsewhere: children under 3, pregnant travellers, wheelchair users and people with back or mobility problems or seasickness (the trip is not suitable for them), and anyone not staying on the island.
What to know before you book:
- Meeting point. The Coffee Club on Phi Phi Don; you arrange your own transport to the island, and an overnight stay on the island is needed.
- The options. 3 hours (snorkelling if time allows), 4 and 6 hours (snorkelling, plus sunset and plankton in the afternoon), 7 hours (adds Bamboo Island when the sea allows).
- Included. The boat and captain, snorkel masks and life jackets, an ice box with water and fruit.
- Extra. The national park fee, 400 baht an adult and 200 baht a child aged 3 to 14 (checked November 2026); lunch; decorations for photos, sold as an add-on.
- Good to know. The captain speaks very basic English; on some days Maya Bay can only be visited at low tide; the trip goes ahead in the rain when it is safe, and if conditions are unsafe you can reschedule or get a full refund.
